The Cherry Press: Copy-Copia → Copy That! 🗞️👯♀️💞🎄
Are you identical?
It is decidedly so!
Jessica and her twin sister Melissa, growing up around their parents’ print shop — Copy-Copia, San Francisco.
Who’s who??? Okay, fine…
Jessica’s on the left. Melissa (her twin sis) is on the right.
Their parents, Jim and Donna, met while working at a print shop in San Francisco — back when print was the thing — called Copy-Copia. Not long after, they got married and, well… copy that — they had identical twins!
I grew up in a print shop.
The hum of the machines.
The smell of ink and paper.
The rhythm of ideas becoming something you could hold in your hands.
That world shaped me — not just the shop itself, but watching my parents work together to make it all happen.
My dad was the printer.
My mom managed the shop.
Each with their very distinct roles, working side by side — collaborating, cooperating — a really good team. They invited me and Mel into the fold whenever they could… and it was FUN.
The machines felt enormous to me as a kid.
I remember sensing that something grand was happening — something important and alive.
My mom and dad felt like the king and queen of the castle.
I remember feeling deeply proud of them — even then.
That feeling stayed with me, and it inspires the work I do with couples today.
Each month, The Cherry Press takes on the season we’re in — visually, emotionally, and relationally.
Last month, we gathered around appreciation — during a final walk through Fairchild Botanical Garden, hearts open, a disco ball quietly reflecting it all. It was a moment of joy and grief, held together, as we carried our beloved Cherry Queen Tegra to her palace in the heavens — her spirit still very much alive and well at CouplesTherapy.co, a home she helped Jessica build nearly 15 years ago from the ground up.
That experience carried us forward.
And now we’re here — in December.
Let it in. Light it up.
This season is about leaning into all of it.
Feeling it in your heart — whatever it is.
Breathing it in. Holding it. Exhaling.
Then choosing to light it up with a smile.
Because at CouplesTherapy.co, we believe this deeply:
we have a choice.
Even when life throws snowballs straight at our faces —
we can laugh.
We can still choose joy.
December’s Cherry Press — Let it in. Light it up! 🪩🎄
Why The Cherry Press Matters to Me
The Cherry Press isn’t marketing for me.
It’s personal.
It’s my way of recreating the print shop I grew up in — only now it’s pixelated — still playful, magical, and alive — built for my CouplesTherapy.co family, The Vine — a nod to my father’s roots in Napa.
And let’s honor Tegra, of course…
our dedicated CouplesTherapy.co Snow Angel during the winter season — and our forever Cherry Queen.
Teggy continues to inspire me with the ideas I share with all of you, just as she did for nearly 15 years. Her spirit is still very much alive, and she remains part of this work, this world, and this creative process.
Remember her motto — the one you’ll come to know and LOVE:
It’s okay to PLAY! 🍒
You’ll see her make appearances in the visuals I personally hand-craft for you — with a little help from her new besties in AI, of course.
This is my pixelated print shop.
This is our modern press.
And you are our family — The Vine.
