Jessica Hansen - Founder & CEO, LMFT and Queen of Hearts ๐Ÿ’•

Jessica Hansen is the founder of CouplesTherapy.co โ€” the sweet spot for Couples Therapy, online! ๐Ÿ’
Where modern love meets mobile therapy โ€” and where couples learn to keep it simple, fight less, play more, and have more fun.

Fight less. Play more. Love is Fun!

First and foremost, Jessica is an identical twin โ€” a core aspect of her humanity and the original spark behind her love for working with couples, doubles (dyads), and all things relationship, including the one you have with yourself. She often says, โ€œCouples are in my DNA.โ€ Sharing identical DNA taught her early that closeness isnโ€™t automatic โ€” intimacy is a skill, one that must be learned and practiced over time. Her relationship with her twin sister, Melissa, has long been a psychological and relational musing in her work โ€” one she remains deeply curious about, right down to a cellular level.

Before becoming a therapist, Jessica spent a decade in Silicon Valley working with Fortune 500 dot-com companies, pairing brands with people online. Years later, she became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, specializing in (you guessed it) couples โ€” pairing people with people, an endeavor straight from the heart.

Jessica has 15+ years of clinical experience, with training across evidence-based and somatic approaches including The Gottman Method, PACT, Pia Mellodyโ€™s Post-Induction Model for childhood trauma and codependence, Mindful Parenting, Integrative Body Psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing, Mediation, and EMDR โ€” among others. Sheโ€™s spent thousands of hours in the room, paying close attention to what truly helps relationships work in real life.

She also brings 15 years of mastery as a classically trained Pilates practitioner, having trained with Jay Grimes โ€” the last living teacher personally taught by and who worked directly with Joseph Pilates. From The Work (as Jay called it), Jessica learned to distill complexity into core truths: moving from the center, honoring the two-way stretch, and the importance of PLAY โ€” principles that deeply inform what she observes and how she works with couples at their core.

These teachings, along with mentorship in Integrative Body Psychotherapy (including with Marjorie Rand), shaped her well-trained eye for somatic, affective, and energetic state shifts โ€” skills sheโ€™s found translate powerfully to online therapy, where subtle cues, rhythm, and presence still speak volumes.

Over time, one truth has consistently stood out: skills matter โ€” and so does play.

CouplesTherapy.co is Jessicaโ€™s opportunity to share what sheโ€™s learned โ€” from being a couple from the very beginning, to Silicon Valley boardrooms and treatment centers across the country; from supporting couples with newborns to adults at every stage of life; from owning a Classical Pilates studio in Venice Beach to flying airplanes and diving the depths of the Red Sea; and yes, from her own relationship ups and downs โ€” all distilled into work thatโ€™s sweet, simple, playful, optimistic, savvy, creative, collaborative, and smart.

She loves to teach and is building a technology-based relationship playground through classes, writing, video, and interactive tools where we can all learn, practice, and grow together.

Jessica has personally built โ€” and is still building โ€” everything you see here, with her beloved dog Tegra who started this journey with her 15 years ago, from the ground up and with heart. This work is handcrafted, intentional, and very much alive. Sheโ€™s loving the process โ€” putting her lifeโ€™s work into practice โ€” and is genuinely stoked to create it collaboratively and share it with you.

To that, she says: COME PLAY!

Fight less. Play more. Love is Fun! ๐Ÿ’

Tegra Hansen (short for Integrity) aka Teggy! - The Cherry Queen ๐Ÿ’

Tegra โ€” lovingly known as The Cherry Queen ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ‘‘ โ€” was 14.8 years young, fabulous, and unforgettable.

She met Mama (Jessica) in West Hollywood at Bark nโ€™ Bitches when she was just eight weeks old, and they were inseparable from that moment on.

Tegra began her career going to work with Mama when Jessica was Director of Sales at MySpace. When MySpace sold, they packed their bags for Boulder to study psychology, then back to Los Angeles, on to Texas for more training, and eventually made their way to Miami โ€” soaking up the warmth, swimming in the ocean, and supporting couples online.

She was part of every single session.
Ask Mama โ€” she never missed one. ๐Ÿพ

Tegra passed peacefully in November 2025, in Jessicaโ€™s care, surrounded by love.

She remains the heart of the operation โ€” the quiet co-therapist and the forever queen of CouplesTherapy.co.

While her body is no longer here, her spirit is very much alive. Jessica continues to co-create much of this work with the spirit of what Tegra taught her best:

    Itโ€™s okay to play.

Long live The Cherry Queen. ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ‘‘

    "The Twins" ๐Ÿ‘ฏโ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿ’

    Are you identical?
    It is decidedly so!

    Whoโ€™s who??? Okay, fineโ€ฆ
Jessicaโ€™s on the left. Melissa (her twin sis) is on the right.

Their parents, Jim and Donna, met while working at a print shop in San Francisco โ€” back when print was the thing โ€” called Copy-Copia. Not long after, they got married and, wellโ€ฆ copy that โ€” they had identical twins!

CouplesTherapy.co carries that twin flame forward โ€” from Copy-Copia to connection and communication, with cherries on top. ๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿ’
